Send Me On My Way – Rusted Root

This takes me back to childhood as I was completely obsessed with Matilda and had seen the film more than any other. My mum would tie a ribbon in my hair and take me to Paisley Central Library so I could pretend to be my hero. I still put this song on whenever I make pancakes.

Bailando – Enrique Iglesias

I studied Spanish at university and this song was released the year I studied abroad in Salamanca through the Erasmus programme. Such a cheesy track that will always remind me of an amazing year.

Brown Eyed Girl – Van Morrison

Reminds me of my lovely dad. It was an ongoing family joke that dad made a playlist when I was born and included this song, despite my eyes being blue.

Can’t Take My Eyes off You – Andy Williams

My partner’s karaoke tune! This song always reminds me of happy memories we’ve shared together.

Tears Dry on Their Own – Amy Winehouse

I begged my mum to let me go to T in the Park when I was 14 because I was desperate to see Amy Winehouse perform. After much negotiation, she eventually conceded, on the condition that my friend’s dad took us to the festival. My friend’s dad was a policeman. We enjoyed Amy’s set under his watchful eye and were back home for bed at 10 pm.
