Working with people living with dementia and family carers to test smart speakers
Playlist for Life is often asked for advice on listening to music through voice activated technology or for advice on listening to music for people who are not able to use physical devices.
We worked with five people living with dementia and two family carers to explore how Alexa enabled devices could be used to listen to playlists.
Participants used the devices to listen to their playlists regularly over ten weeks to understand:
- How suitable these devices are for people with dementia
- What guidance people might require enabling them to use the devices effectively
- What improvements might make them better
Over the ten weeks participants took part in group feedback sessions and shared their experience to help create the documents below.
