Make a playlist this Valentine’s Day

A personalised playlist is the perfect gift for your loved one.

When words fail, music speaks. Many of us use music to communicate how we really feel. And we often have love songs on the ‘soundtrack of their life’ – our own personalised playlist.

This Valentine’s Day, why not make a playlist for a loved one or relative? Making a playlist is a fun thing to do for anyone, but it can be a lifeline in the event of a dementia diagnosis for you or someone you know.

Playlist for Life supports people living with dementia and those who love and care for them through the power of personally meaningful music. Our work is based on over two decades of scientific research showing that listening to a playlist of personally meaningful music can improve the health and wellbeing of people living with dementia.

How to make a playlist

Making a playlist is easy, and you don’t need to be a technology expert to reap the rewards of personally meaningful music.

We have lots of guidance on our resources page: from how to pick the right music, to how to use music effectively.

If you would like to give your playlist as a Valentine’s gift, why not print out our ‘mixtape’ template and put it inside a card for your loved one?

Could you donate to support our work?

Playlist for Life is a music and dementia charity sharing the power of personalised music with anyone affected by dementia.

All our resources are freely available at no cost to families who could benefit from them.

Please help us to keep our support free to any family affected by dementia.
