Across Scotland, from west to east coast (and through Glasgow in between!), Playlist for Life and some of our fantastic supporters took part in the Kiltwalk to raise awareness of the power of personalised playlists for people living with dementia.
Joining us for the first ever virtual Kiltwalk were our friends at Glan Rhos care home in Anglesey, Wales, who rediscovered some Scottish favourites in their Kiltwalk celebration!
Understanding the important role music plays for people living with dementia and their families, they chose to support Playlist for Life at this year’s event. Staff and residents got inspired ahead of the weekend by crafting Kiltwalk posters, face masks, sporans and scotty dogs. What a talented team!
"We have really enjoyed taking part in the Kiltwalk event and celebrating everything Scottish. Everyone enjoyed dressing up, counting steps, Irn Bru, and especially singing along to some of the old Scottish ballads. Our highest number of steps for the day was 32,000, with several other members of staff notching up over 20,000!"
Wendy Rogers, Activity Coordinator at Glan Rhos
